The Officer will also be providing welfare, money advice, employment support, and obtaining personal grants for essential household items support.

Fundraising and Welfare Officer
Salary: £14.00 per hour (16 hours per week)

This is a fixed-term post for 12 months, continuation beyond this period will depend upon securing further funding.
AFSCS is seeking to appoint an experienced Fundraising and Welfare Officer with relevant skills and track records in bid writing and having succeeded to secure various funding for the last two years. The Officer will also be providing welfare, money advice, employment support, and obtaining personal grants for essential household items support.
The successful candidate will be committed to writing funding applications, working with people from differing social and cultural backgrounds, and managing a caseload for customers requiring short- and long-term support. They will be required to engage with the community, build up trusted relationships, and offer brief interventions, group work, and where necessary 1-1 sessions to support individuals with their support needs.
We are looking for a confident, self-motivated, dedicated, and driven person to work directly with people and professionals across several current social issues so being able to show empathy, understanding, and compassion, and build trusted relationships.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a challenging and complex workload whilst prioritising effectively; support clients positively, sensitively, and empathetically, and be able to work in various ways to meet our beneficiaries’ needs in various situations and settings.

Main Duties:
• Bid writing and project management
• To deliver welfare and employment support
• To deliver activities of different project and support with the planning and delivery in line with the project aims and objectives.
• Assist the Drop-In centre Manager to conduct project monitoring and report
• Running the weekly activities and 1-2-1 support program.
• Monitor and report on the people that attend the groups and 1-2-1 support.
• To develop and maintain links within the community, both with the statutory and voluntary sectors.
• To assist the Operations Manager with issues such as resources, planning, performance meetings, and improving monitoring tools and processes.
• Maintain the Health and Safety and Safeguarding policies and ensure staff and people attending the activities adhere to them.
• Assist the Operations Manager with grant reports
• Assist the project manager with bid writing activities
• To carry a caseload and support individuals and families who attend the groups or who need intervention.
• Communicating with clients to continuously define project objectives
• Offer support in promoting the organisation through marketing tasks

Key Person Specifications:
– Proven experience in delivering welfare support to disadvantaged migrants
– Bid writing and project delivery experience
– Experience in using AI for the needs of the business
– Experience in using Salesforce (or CRM system) for managing customers
– Be fluent in French and English
– Possess a full driving license and have access to a car
– Willingness to participate actively in other community activities delivered by the organisation outside contracted hours.
